Perhaps a good euphemism is what you need such as, "cease to function as a carbon-based biological unit" or "metabolically challenged."
The Dead and Buried website has a list of over 200 euphemisms from which to choose.

A millionaire informs his attorney, "I want a stipulation in my Will that my [spouse] is to inherit everything, but only if [my spouse] remarries within six months of my death."
"Why such an odd stipulation?" asked the attorney.
"Because I want someone to be sorry I died!" came the reply.
